Actions of various interests were organized by the Social Integration of the Refugee Project team of Caritas Athens for the beneficiaries and especially the children that live in its shelter.
-On July 2nd, a movie projection was accomplished in the home theater of the building on Patision street.
-On July 11th, the benefited children of the same shelter, as well as children living in apartments of the surrounding area, visited The Hellenic Children’s Museum in Plaka.
The little refugees had the opportunity to observe, research, experiment, create and play in the different sections (market, kitchen, construct, playground, inside the water, the house of great grandpa and great grandma, one way or another, hello Pythagoras and how do I move?) of the educational programs and exhibits presented, which contribute to the development of the child, encouraging critical thinking, initiative, creativity and autonomy.
-Twenty children from different shelters visited the entertainment center ALLOU FUN PARK in Renti, where they enjoyed unique, fun moments and took many pictures.
-Finally, forty individuals from different shelters participated in the tour of Athens with open top buses SIGHTS OF ATHENS, on the 20th of July.
Children and adults were guided to the most important cultural monuments of the capital and got to know the history of Syntagma Square, the Acropolis Museum, the Parthenon, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the National Garden and Zappeion, the Panathenaic Stadium (Kallimarmaro), Plaka, Monastiraki Square, Omonoia Square etc.
