The Listening & Counseling Center of Saint Lucas parochial Caritas at Heraklion, Attica, has been successfully operating since Monday, November 12, 2018 with the support of Caritas Athens, of which it is a member.
The presentation of the Center’s way of operation and purpose to the parishioners was done the day before by f. Andreas Voutsinos, the Secretary of the Administration Board of the Organization, Ms. Elizabeth Ioustinianou, the Operations Director, Mr. Filippos Salimpas, the Caritas Athens Help Center’s Officer, Ms. Martha Koutsogiannouli and the volunteer/ coordinator Ms. Anna Sklavou.
The Listening & Counseling Center housed in the parish of St. Lucas is addressed to both parishioners and the general public. It accepts people irrespective of religion, nationality, race and sex who are offered help and advice on various issues related to health, family, economic and intellectual life, in consultation with the Center’s moderators.
The Center’s moderators welcome and listen carefully to each person, making them feel comfortable to share the problem at hand. They then undertake to direct it responsibly towards the right service / process, as requested, and support it throughout this course.
The Listening & Counseling Center is coordinated by parish volunteers, trained appropriately and supervised by the scientific staff of the Help Center of Caritas Athens, in direct and close collaboration with the parish priest.
