An educative seminar on First-Aid under the title “By Heart” was organized by Caritas Hellas in co-operation with RSF Hellas – Hellenic Communications & Rescue Voluntary Team, on Saturday, January 20th, at the Cultural Center of Moschato’s Municipality.
Eighty people/employees of both Organizations participated in the highly interesting 5-hour-long interactive seminar. They either come into direct contact with the beneficiaries, or are broadly interested in acquiring basic knowledge on rescuing our fellow human beings. The seminar was structured through the following topics:
-Use of protective measures
-Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) via chest compressions and rescue breathings, as well as the use of a portable defibrillator, performed for adults, children and infants
-Major bleeding management
-Burn injury management
-Spine injury management
It should be noted that RSF Hellas-Hellenic Communications & Rescue Voluntary Team is an association with registered seat at the Municipality of Tavros-Moschato and its members are active since 2005, while the Education Section carries out free, certified programs throughout the country since 2007, based on a curriculum accredited by ECSI, ERC and similar organizations.
The seminar was attended, among others, by Caritas Hellas & Caritas Athens Administration Board’s General Secretary, Ms. Elissavet Ioustinianou-Merritt, who thanked both RSF Hellas President, Mr. Andreas Samaltanos and Vice-President/Doctor, Mr. Panagiotis Patsaouras for their excellent presentations, as well as all association members for their active participation, Caritas Hellas & Caritas Athens Administration Board’s member, Ms. Helen Carabott, Caritas Athens Administration Board’s member Mr. Stanislaos Stouraitis, Caritas Athens Refugee Program’s Management Committee member, Ms. Iliana Raouzaiou, Caritas Athens Operations Director, Mr. Filippos Salimpas and many employees of Caritas Hellas and Caritas Athens.
All participants were granted a Certificate of Attendance for the program by RSF Hellas!
