A special musical-theater performance titled “ODYSSEIES” was presented by students of the 3rd grade of the Primary School and the Choir of the Primary School of Leonteios Athens, saying goodbye to classes for the school year 2017-2018.
On Wednesday, June 13, in the crowded theater of 17 Neigy Street, in Patisia, the protagonists were the uprooting, the foreigners, the separation and the refugees that the Eastern Mediterranean is experiencing in the last century!
Smyrna, Palestine, Syria, Afghanistan, and so many other places where residents were forced to leave because of persecution, warfare or civil wars were the occasion for a return to the drama of refugee, which has no end.
The children guided by their teachers reflected on their causes, sending a global message of love and optimism expressed with the wish that the hands of all their peers would unite and continue to remain united and during their adult life, to give a human solution!
At the beginning of the event a brief presentation of the work of Caritas Athens, especially in the Refugee Sector, was given by the Board member, Communication and Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Helen Carabott, who referred to the continuous and unaltered support from the Leonteios Athens School and the Marian Community, who are embracing Caritas Athens actions at every opportunity!
The Organization would like to express its congratulations to the whole group of young artists and responsible educators who worked hard to present the show and its gratitude to all those who offered their financial help and were sensitized by its activity over the last forty years.
