CARNIVAL EVENT AT THE “GOOD SAMARITAN” RETIREMENT HOME
In a festive atmosphere with live music and singing, treats, gifts and many volunteers, the Carnival event held every year by Caritas Athens took place on Wednesday February 8 at the retirement home “Good Samaritan” at Pefki.
The large dining room of the institution, decorated for the occasion, was turned into an entertainment space, where more than 40 seniors enjoyed the music program coordinated by the composer, lyricist, and performer Christos Thessalonikeus, who offered moments of joy to all the attendees, thanks to a varied repertoire which he performed on his guitar and thus maintaining the public’s interest for two hours! Many ladies participated actively by dancing and singing, proving once more that fun and energy do not depend on… age!
During this joyous celebration, the Institution’s Director Mr. Nikos Dasyras showed his talent in music, too, by singing… off-microphone popular songs!
The Vice-Chairman and Director of Caritas Athens Fr. Ioannis Patsis and his predecessor, priest of the Holy Church of Agios Loukas in Iraklio, Attica, Fr. Andreas Voutsinos, Fr. Markos Vidalis, the members of the Administration Board Ms. Helen Carabott (Communication-Public Relations Officer and Third Age Officer) and Ms. Nikoletta Delatola (“I love and I offer” Project Manager), the former member of the Administration Board Ms. Maria Miliari, as well as several volunteers from various parochial Caritas organizations who kept company to all the people that were unable to attend the event by visiting their rooms!
