CONCERT FOR SENIOR CITIZENS
On the occasion of Christmas, Caritas Athens held a concert dedicated to Senior Citizens, with the title “Old Time Radio”, which took place on Monday, 19 December 2016 in the Auditorium of the Catholic Archdiocese of Athens.
The program included a musical journey through the time with popular songs of famous Greek composers, coordinated by the composer, lyricist, and performer Christos Thessalonikeus (guitar-voice) and the performances were by: Giorgos Xenokostas (bouzouki-voice), Thanassis Spelas (piano-voice) and Anna Gika (voice).
The Catholic Archbishop of Athens and Chairman of Caritas Athens, Fr. Sevastianos Rossolatos, the Vice-Chairman and Director Fr. Ioannis Patsis, the members of the Administration Board Ms. Helen Carabott, Ms. Nikoletta Delatola, Mr. Manolis Sigalas and Mr. Stanislaos Stouraitis, the Operations Director Mr. Filippos Salimpas, Fr. Andreas Voutsinos, Priest of the Holy Church of Agios Loukas in Iraklio, Attica, Fr. Athanassios Armaos of the Armenian Catholic Church in Greece, the politician of the party of New Democracy Ms. Virginia Baiba, the municipal councilor of the Municipality of Tinos Ms. Irini Vidali and many members and friends of the Organization, attended the event.
The concert captured the public’s interest for around two hours, as they participated actively, singing the songs many generations of Greeks were brought up listening to, songs that all of us love and still have at the top of our preferences.
Afterwards, a treat was offered at the foyer of the theater, where the attendees had the opportunity to exchange wishes!
