CONCERT OF THE ERT CHORUS FOR THE 40 YEARS OF OFFER AND SOLIDARITY OF CARITAS ATHENS
The ERT Music Choir concert for the 40 years of offer and solidarity to the Greek Society of the charity organization “Caritas Athens”, was successfully held in the packed room of the Parnassos Literary Society.
The event, besides its festive character, was an opportunity for the organization to communicate its work to the public, to give honor and gratitude to its supporters and to raise awareness to more people, so that everyone can help in whatever way he wants.
The ERT Choir performed remixes of favorite songs from Greek cinema, created by the greatest contemporary Greek composers, Mikis Theodorakis, Stavros Xarhakos and Manos Hadjidakis in orchestration by Kostis Kritsotakis and piano accompaniment by Thanos Marmetas under the direction of Athanasia Kyriakidou, creating moments full with emotions of joy and nostalgia.
The guests were welcomed on behalf of the Board of Directors of the Organization by Ms. Eleni Carabott, member of the Board, while greetings were addressed by the Archbishop of Athens Catholics, President of the Holy Synod of the Catholic Hierarchy of Greece and President of Caritas Athens, f. Sebastianos Rossolatos, the former Archbishop of the Catholics of Athens, f. Nikolaos Foskolos and the former Vice-President and Director of the Organization, f. Andreas Voutsinos. A message sent by the President of Caritas Internationalis, Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle and Archbishop of Manila, was read to the guests.
At the end of the concert the Vice-President & Director of Caritas Athens, f. Ioannis Patsis, thanked ERT, the choir for its excellent performance of the songs, the talented director, the pianist and the orchestrator as well as all those who attended the concert, from Greece and abroad, renewing the call for a forthcoming event of the Organization!
The evening ended with a reception for all the guests.
