NEW YEAR’S “PITA” CUTTING FOR THE STAFF MEMBERS OF CARITAS ATHENS
The cutting of the New Year’s “pita” (cake) for the staff members of Caritas Athens took place in a festive atmosphere at the restaurant Butcher & Sardelles at Gazi, organized by the Organization’s Administration Board with the support of CRS, on Friday, January 20.
The following members of the Administration Board attended the event: Fr. Ioannis Patsis (Vice-Chairman & Director), Ms. Elissavet Ioustinianou-Merritt (General Secretary), Mr. Stanislaos Stouraitis (Treasurer), Ms. Helen Carabott (Communication-Public Relations Officer & Third Age Officer), Ms. Nikoletta Delatola (“I love and I offer” Project Manager) and Mr. Manolis Sigalas, as well as the members of the previous Administration Board, Fr. Andreas Voutsinos, Ms. Maria Miliari and Ms. Violetta Labous, the members of the previous Management Committee of the Refugee Program, Ms. Iliana Raouzeou, Ms. Georgia Fonsou and Mr. Jo Fegali, the member of the Management Committee Mr. Joseph Printezis, the Operations Director Mr. Filippos Salimpas, the Legal Adviser Mr. Dimitrios Levantis, the Direcotr of Caritas Andria don Mimmo Francavilla and Mr. Francesco Delfino, Secretary of the Catholic School of Molfetta (who were visiting Athens for the Microcredit Program of Caritas Athens with the goal to enhance youth entrepreneurship, funded by that Italian organization), and needless to say, almost all the employees.
During the event, the Administration Board bestowed a plaque of appreciation to the five members of the Management Committee of the Refugee Program, Mr. Nikos Voutsinos, Ms. Nikoletta Delatola, Ms. Iliana Raouzeou, Mr. Jo Fegali and Ms. Georgia Fonsou, for their valuable and long-standing contribution after the end of their stint. Furthermore, the three latter members accepted the proposal by Fr. Ioannis to continue their work, while all attendees cheered and applauded enthusiastically. The Vice-Chairman and Director of Caritas Athens thanked the staff members also for their daily effort to carry out the hard work of the Organization and cut the cake wishing that all would meet again next year!
The lucky one was Ms. Aliki Katsa, Adults Integration Activities Coordinator, of the Shelter Program, who won the gold coin [flouri] and received a symbolic present from the oldest member of Caritas Athens and former member of the Administration Board, Ms. Maria Miliari.
