Α FAMILY, BENECIARIES OF CARITAS ATHENS ATTENDED THE MUSICAL “LIBERAJ": THE STORY OF A YOUNG REFUGEE” AT “KNOSSOS” THEATER
A five-member family, beneficiaries of Caritas Athens, had the opportunity to attend the musical "Liberaj: The story of a young refugee" on Saturday, May 11, at the theater "Knossos".
The Organization's Refugee Integration Sector secured free tickets for the play that was based on a libretto by Maria Athini and an original musical composition by Antonis Karatzikis and was performed involving more than one hundred contributors, actors, singers, dancers and musicians.
The parents and their three children, who speak Greek fluently, watched with great interest the performance, which tells the story of a sixteen-year-old student / refugee who was found from the war zone of his homeland in a small town in central Europe and managed to overcome all difficulties and to finish school thanks to the solidarity of his classmates.
In Esperanto, the "language of hope", the word Liberaj means "Free". Solidarity and love among people can help refugees overcome difficulties, integrate in the new environment and triumph in their lives.
